R.I.P my precious powerbook

Yup... it died. (great eulegy eh?) It's pretty dead anyway.. once I can get back home I can crack it open and see fi i can find the problem and fix it, but alas I have nothing I actually need to do it... anyway, my beloved computer, my Pismo powerbook just won't power on!!!! This is not a good thing. At the least my buddy aaron is supposed to giving me a 550 mHz Dell that I will put linux on till I can get something, prefferably a G3 or G4 tower... I guess it is a good thing that CMU is having a computer auction this firday... just in time.. I might be able to pick up a tower for $50... that would be nice. If not I don't know what I am going to do.. this is a really big pain I have to say, having to walk to grawn or the library anytime I need/want to use a computer. Well, in other, slightly less depressing news. I go home on the 7th. I get to work again and have to save up for a car for the fall... since I have to drive a half hour to school and back everyday. The worst part is that I am not going to get to see lucy very much at all, but I'm trying not to dwell on that part.
That's about it I think... I THINK.. more later.....

Cancer, Music and the problem with our world today....

Ok, so maybe I lied about the problem with the world part.. i've got nothing on that one...

I am currently sitting in a coffee house in Mount Pleasant listening to Rich Scherf of One Day Less play at an open mic night. I like to listen to him, and the rest of his band so it's all good, even if I am slowly contracting cancer from it (this unnmed coffee house permits smoking and their smoke eater either is not on or does not work so well). You all should be here, but clearly your not.. Check out their site and listen to their stuff, it's great!

Now that my shameless one day less plug over what have I been up to today.. well, slept till about 11 AM.. a good 10 hours which is a much needed change from the weekend. Got up, went to the court yard to promote Gap and the "bring a friend to Gap" event that is going on this thursday. That was fun.. we have this gorilla suit.. need I say more.. check it out sometime between now and thursday if you are at CMU... we are out there between 12 and 2 mostly this week... look for the gorilla in the red shirt.. can't miss it..

After than I tried to go to my 3:30 class, but it was cancelled.. I tried, really I did!!!! Oh well, went home and ate then went to my exam at 6... should be interesting to see the results of that come next tuesday. that's about it for today really.. busy week this week then the weekend will be even more busy for me. Should be fun.

Interesting......

Ok, just to start things off I took this quiz when I got bored at the library, it was in my profile and about alchohol, the following is my results:

Bourbon
Congratulations! You're 116 proof, with specific scores in beer (80) , wine (66), and liquor (95).
Screw all that namby-pamby chick stuff, you're going straight for the bottle and a shot glass! It'll take more than a few shots of Wild Turkey or 99 Bananas before you start seeing pink elephants. You know how to handle your alcohol, and yourself at parties.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Apperantly I know more about the stuff than I thought, oh well, won't use it till I get into Culinary school next year.

(note: I do not endorse the advertising, I just don't feel like messing with it..)

In marginally more important news, my alarm clock and I are officially fighting. Last night I took a nap before leadership... or that was my intent anyway, it just sort of decided to not go off. I checked and it was in fact set to 6:30 PM, the volume was all the way up and there is no possible way I could have just hit the snooze while asleep, I would have had to sit up, reach forward, hit it and sit back down. The way my room is set up this is completely impossible to do with out being awake. I was so mad with it I almost defenestrated it (tossed it out the window), but before I did that I remembered my travel alarm was at home in highland so this one lives another day.

Needless to say I missed leadership, this I was not too happy about as I was supposed to be there especially today because groups were being assigned for the mass of activities that are going on this week: 1) Bring a friend to Gap night on thursday, 2) Parents Banquet Saturday and 3) New Life Appreciation Day sunday, for which I am preparing the meal (guess that happens when everyone knows you are going to be a chef...) Point is, I really needed to be there for the meeting but that didn't happen... that wasn't cool.. everyone was ok with it since it is the first meeting I have not gone to w/o notice, but that doesn't mean I am ok with it.. sunday should be fun. I still need to get with Nate on my budget and such and then find people to help me friday night to get all the food prepped for Sunday...

That is about all I have for now.. oh, got a C- on my New Testament exam!!!

::insert witty title here::

Hmmm, it's been a while since my last post. I find it kinda funny that when i started this I used to update it multiple times a day, but, over the last year I have really let my postings drop off. This has not been intentional, but I guess I have just been really busy and out late enough that by the time I get home I just want to pass out.

With that said lets see what I have been up to that is of note. I had to write part of a group paper/ project thing wednesday night so the girl that was elected to put it all together could do so and get it to the person that is proof reading it. That was less than fun. I had to explain how to turn doughnuts into diamonds (yes, you can do it.) That took waaaaaay longer than I had hoped or expected but atleast I got it done and don't have to think about it anymore... the paper is due monday.

We had an exam in my New Testament class yesterday (friday), that was interesting as always. For those who are first time readers, these classes are 200 level classes but the professor teachs them at a seminary level. Makes for interesting exams.. at least he has a sliding curve going on for the exams, if he didn't no one would pass them.

Currently I am helping one of my roommates build a webpage for one of his classes, it's easy I had the class last semester, but GoLive can be a little cumbersome to first time users. He is doing ok, but I'm here for him anyway..

Tonight is guys night and girls night for Gap. I am sooooo there.. the guys are doing a barbeque at Bob Englishs' house (Lexington V-10) we are also playing ballslinger, capture the flag at island park (in the dark-ish), then we are having pacman, texas hold'em and dart tournements. It's going to be great! Just come over if you want to attend.

I think that is about it till tomorrow morning. Peace out!
